In our Business School, we teach experts how to be commercially smart by focusing on developing positioning as a leading authority, what the world might call a thought leader.

No time to read the blog? You can listen to it here.

Our curriculum is rich and full and has been tested over several decades by experts who show up in the world in as many unique ways as possible. Working single parents, non-binary corporate executives, health experts, leadership experts, and finance experts. The systems and procedures and mentoring works. More people have achieved Black Belt (annual billings of $720,000) in the last three years than at any other time. Right now, the world needs experts.

Start by thinking about something you know others might value and then work out a way to share it with them that works for both of you.

We teach that a commercially smart practice has revenue streams from public and professional channels—The public is paid via credit card, and the professional is typically paid on invoice.

As you build out this diversified practice you might also focus your attention on some smart bets for the future.

Place your bets on three major themes.

Level 1: Get Closer to People.
This might be focused on customers.
This might be focused on employee engagement.
This might be the 10x power of relationships.

Level 2: Champion Human Centricity.
This might be emotional intelligence workshops.
This might be leading with values.
This might be mediation and diversity training.

Level 3: Be Consciously Conscious.
This might be awareness training for leaders.
This might be a purpose-led enterprise.
This might be retreats for body, mind, and soul.

There are a bunch of ways you can spin these three bets and I have written on these in the past. A commercially astute thought leader focuses on adapting what they know to resonate with people’s needs. I see these categories (the three bets) as current present needs.
