As a thought leader, you may need to be ‘apart but not aloof’; you may need to be alone together.

The game of being a thought leader is one of standing out and not fitting in. As such, you might have a tendency to be an outlier perhaps even a loner. In 1997, I had the fortune to follow an extraordinary leader Sarah Cornally. At the end of the year working together, she wrote me a card drawing analogy between me and an eagle. One line really resonated “Like this eagle you are intelligent, clear and apart but not aloof, ready to swoop down with clear vision and get a job done.” I framed it and it hangs on my wall to this day. It reminds me of a different style of leader, Sarah was a true Queen and also the gift of being seen by someone you admire.

As a thought leader, you may need to be ‘apart but not aloof’; you may need to be alone together.

As thought leaders, we are often by ourselves as we think and shape ideas for others and of course, in shaping ideas for others we need to be with them and understand them. This seems paradoxical to some but it’s the only way it works. Come up with something from within you (Alone) and share it in service to others (Together).

We believe the world needs you. Now more than ever, the world needs independent thinkers, financially resourced, free of dogma or agenda. But we also know…

You need an “us”. A place where you can be inspired by the company you keep. A place where the quality of thinking is world-class and the diversity of thought stretches your mind to grow into new ways of being of service, new ways of bringing the value of your expertise to the world.

Perhaps we are that place for you?
